GLP-1 peptide sourcing checklist
This category carries a higher counterfeit risk than commodity peptides. The checklist is correspondingly stricter — and it is designed to be answered before payment, not after receipt.
Part of the GLP-1 research peptides pillar.
Before you request a quote
- Define the compound, salt form and strength — "GLP-1 peptide" is not a specification.
- Decide the acceptance criteria: identity method, purity threshold, water and content limits.
- Confirm the material may lawfully be imported into your jurisdiction.
The checklist
| # | Check | Pass condition |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Legal entity | Licence, bank account and invoice entity match |
| 2 | Compound-specific COA | Not a template shared across analogues |
| 3 | Identity | MS spectrum with expected mass calculation for the modified sequence |
| 4 | Purity | HPLC chromatogram with method, gradient and integration |
| 5 | Content | Water content (Karl Fischer) + net peptide content |
| 6 | Batch linkage | Lot number on vial, COA and invoice |
| 7 | Provenance | Manufacturing batch reference; analytical lab named |
| 8 | Consistency | Two or three consecutive lot COAs |
| 9 | Packaging | Vial format, fill, closure and label content specified |
| 10 | Logistics | Correct commodity description, documentation, destination legality |
| 11 | Remedy | Written claim window and replacement/credit terms |
| 12 | Payment | Staged terms or documentary payment for a first order |
Red flags specific to GLP-1 compounds
- "Same as brand" language — a research material is not a brand product; the framing is a warning.
- COAs without a batch number — the document cannot be tied to goods.
- Purity quoted to two decimals with no chromatogram — precision without evidence.
- Mass values that do not match the published sequence — check the arithmetic yourself.
- Pressure to pay in full immediately — risk transfer at the worst moment.
- No answer on salt form — acetate vs TFA changes the mass and the behaviour.
How to use the checklist
Score each item 0–2. A supplier below 18/24 is not ready for a volume order, regardless of price. The purpose is not to find a perfect supplier; it is to make the gaps visible while you still have negotiating room.
Editor's take
In the GLP-1 category, the checklist is the product. Price competition is easy; documentation competition is what separates a supplier from a reseller.
Sources & evidence
- Semaglutide: PubChem CID 56843331; EMA Ozempic EPAR.
- Tirzepatide: PubChem CID 166567236; EMA Mounjaro EPAR.
- Retatrutide: ClinicalTrials.gov records.
Reference molecular data; the batch COA governs the material supplied. No efficacy claim is made.
Limitations
Molecular and analytical information only; no dosing, efficacy or human-use guidance. The batch COA governs the material supplied.
